POLICIES
IPC Player and Programming Policies
From arriving early to amenities available outside of office hours, please take a minute to review these policies so we can continue to provide a great experience to our IPC community.
The following policies will go into effect Monday, Dec. 9 at the Eastside IPC location.
Arriving Early
Players must not arrive more than 15 minutes early to any event, reservation, or program. Players arriving more than 15 minutes early may be asked to stay in the lobby or lounge. Players may warm up 15 minutes before their program begins if court space allows. Players who want court access more than 15 minutes early must reserve a court.
Arriving Late
Late arrivals inconvenience other players and affect instructional programming. Players who arrive more than 20 minutes late to any open play or instructional program will be marked as a no-show and may be charged a cancellation fee. (See also: Leaving Early & Cancellations & Fees)
Cancellations & Fees
Full refunds will be granted if players cancel their registration within an acceptable time frame (listed below). Players who cancel after these windows have lapsed will be charged for the program. The cancellation fee will be the full regular price of that program (for example, the fee for Open Play is $15 for players of any membership level). Acceptable cancellation windows are:
-
Open Play: 1 hour in advance
-
Court Reservation: 2 hours in advance
-
League: Opt out 2 hours in advance
-
Class / Clinic / Assessment / Mini-Tourney / DUPR / etc. : 12 hours in advance
Equipment & Paddles
Outdoor balls are available for player use on each court. Players must not take balls from the facility, or take balls from hoppers in the lobby. Players can let IPC Staff know if more balls are needed on their court.

Players may borrow demo paddles by checking them out from IPC staff during office hours. Players must provide an ID or car keys as collateral. Players must not take paddles without permission. Players who repeatedly monopolize a specific paddle will be encouraged to purchase that paddle. Players who make court reservations outside of office hours will not have access to demo paddles and will need to bring their own paddles.
Etiquette
The following etiquette standards are expected and will be enforced:
-
Players must treat all staff and all players with respect
-
Players must wait until a point ends to walk behind a court
-
Players must not loiter on or near courts unless they have reserved that court
-
Players must not question line calls or harass other players
-
Players must not throw paddles, yell, or use explicit language
-
Players must not take any food or drink onto courts (water is allowed courtside)
Gear
Players must leave their bags, coats and other gear on the provided hooks and near the walls, benches, and tables in the Players’ Lounge. Players may take water to courts if it is in a bottle with a sealed lid. No other food or beverage is allowed outside the lobby or Players’ Lounge. During Open Play, players may take items such as water bottles and towels to the provided benches and storage cubbies on their courts. No gear can be stored on the court, behind the court, or along court barriers. Players may only take their gear to their court if they have reserved that specific court. All folding chairs must have clean, rubber-tipped feet and must remain in the Players’ Lounge.
Leaving Early
Early departures inconvenience other players and affect instructional programming. Players who leave more than 20 minutes early from any open play or instructional program will be marked as a no-show and may be charged a cancellation fee. (See Arriving Late)
No Shows
Registering and then failing to attend an event inconveniences other players and affects instructional programming. Players who are deemed “no shows” for open play or instructional programs will be marked accordingly and charged a cancellation fee. (See Arriving Late or Leaving Early)
Office Hours
IPC Office hours are:
-
Mon-Fri 8:30am - 8pm
-
Sat-Sun 10am - 3pm
During office hours, players have access to the lobby (towels, pro shop, demo paddles, vending machine, etc.).
Reservations made outside of office hours will be provided an access code to gain entrance using the 24-hour door to the right of the front door. Reservations made outside of office hours will not have access to the front lobby or any amenities located therewithin.
Open Play
The following standards will be expected and enforced during Open Play:
-
Players must defer to and respect decisions made by Coordinator
-
Players will use paddle racks only for the level for which they registered
-
Players will rotate 2-on-2-off (if 1-5 paddles waiting); winners stay and must split
-
Players will rotate 4-on-4-off (in general, if 6+ paddles waiting); winner paddles go before loser paddles
-
The Coordinator will make informed decisions with regards to number of courts and number of paddles
-
Remember – players will respect decisions made by the Coordinator
-
Players must not play on open courts without permission from the Coordinator
-
Players must not manipulate the order of play, partner, or opponent (ie, players must not move themselves around in an effort to avoid or to play with specific people – rent a court if that is the case)
Parking
All players must park in designated spots. When parking in the shared lot between IPC and Rev Volleyball Academy, players must park to the north and west in the IPC lots – and NOT in the south lot close to Rev Volleyball Academy. Players must not cut through the grass when walking from the side parking lot to the front door. This will help keep our floors and playing surface clean.
Private Lessons
Players are prohibited from providing paid private lessons on IPC courts. Only instructors employed by IPC are allowed to provide instruction for compensation. Players who violate this policy may have their membership terminated.
Refunds
Cancellations that fall within the acceptable time frames (see Cancellations & Fees) will be fully refunded. All refunds will be processed and refunded to the original payment method. Refunds will not be issued if cancellation occurs outside the acceptable window.

Refunds will not be issued for cancellation fees charged for late arrivals or early departures (see Arriving Late and Leaving Early). If one member of a court reservation fails to attend, they will not be issued a refund.
Reservations
All members have the ability to reserve courts during office hours. Only players with paid membership plans can reserve courts outside of office hours. All players who participate must be added to the reservation. Members who fail to register all players will be charged for any unregistered guests.
Shoes
Players must wear proper court shoes that do not scuff the surface of the courts and are encouraged to have a specific pair of court shoes that they carry into the facility with them in order to keep the playing surface clean especially during the winter months. When wearing playing shoes into the facility, make sure they are clean before entering the court area. Players with dirty or muddy shoes may be prevented from playing.
Staying on a Court
Players must leave the court promptly when the time for the reservation or program has ended. If there is a program directly following, IPC staff may use a whistle to signal that courts need to be cleared. Players may finish their point, but most likely will not be able to finish their game. If there is no program following, then players may finish their game but need to leave the courts promptly. Players who remain on the court for more than 10 minutes may be charged for a court reservation in 30-minute increments.
Verified Ratings
Players must verify their skill rating before they will be able to register for Open Play sessions marked “Verified” (in general, any open play that is 3.0+). Players must link a reliable DUPR rating to their Court Reserve account (How to Link a DUPR account); provide a screenshot of their Pickleball Brackets account with their name and doubles or mixed doubles rating; or lastly, register for a Skills Assessment.
If using Pickleball Brackets or DUPR accounts for verified ratings, please follow-up for manual verification of reliability by emailing either jaci@indianapolispickleballclub.com or sonny@indianapolispickleballclub.com.
Waitlist
When events such as open play, classes, and social programs reach their maximum registration, players have the option of joining the waitlist. If a spot opens up due to a withdrawal, all players on the waitlist will receive an e-mail (make sure you have opted into the "Waitlist - Availability Notice" email in CourtReserve) and the first player to respond by registering will receive the open spot. Players on the waitlist must not show up to the club expecting to participate unless they have registered for the event.
